Windows 8 users must enable a Windows Feature for OpenVPN to work properly (Click on images for larger view).

Go to Settings

Go to Control Panel

Select Programs

At Programs and Features Select Turn Windows features on or off

Select Ras Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK)
Click OK

Even with these settings it doesn’t work for some users. If you are one of them the following “fix” it will solve the issue. Give it a try before giving up.

Before you connect to the VPN, go to Control Panel and then the Network and Internet connection. Then just connect as you normally would with OpenVPN.
