Ladar Levison bevorzugt, sofort Abschaltung Lavabit nicht installieren Backdoors für das FBI - und wurde sogar mit Verhaftung dafür bedroht.
Wird VPN-Anbieter das gleiche tun, wenn die FBI-Agenten kommen klopft an die Tür? We don’t know for sure.

We found it interesting that Snowden chose to go public in Hong Kong… Snowden’s reasons were “Hong Kong hat eine starke Tradition der freien Rede. Die Leute denken, China, Great Firewall ... aber die Menschen in Hong Kong haben eine lange Tradition protestieren auf den Straßen, die ihre Ansichten bekannt ... und ich glaube, dass die Regierung von Hongkong ist eigentlich unabhängig in Bezug auf eine Menge von anderen führenden westlichen Regierungen.”
Auch Julian Assange sagte “Our own political and legal analysis of Snowden’s situation was that Hong Kong would play it by the book…” zu halten “... Seinen Ruf als ein Land, das einen starken Rechtsstaat hat, wenn es unter einer Menge Kontrolle, ein Wunsch, nicht das Gesicht zu verlieren, aus China und nicht wie die USA sie herum drängen”.
