WHAT IS L2TP/IPSec?

L2TP/IPSec is the recommended replacement for PPTP where secure data encryption is required and it is the best choice for your mobile device.

IPSec has no major vulnerabilities and is considered extremely secure, in contrast to the Microsoft implementation of PPTP which has serious security vulnerabilities.

L2TP/IPSec is a combination of IPsec and L2TP and works by IPsec encapsulating L2TP packets (the L2TP packet itself is wrapped and hidden within the IPsec packet.) and has been standardized in RFC 3193.

All modern mobile platform iOS(iPhone, iPad) and Android have built in support for L2TP/IPSec.

Also all Windows since 2000/XP and all Mac OSX after 10.3+ have built in support for L2TP/IPSec.
